In Miami this morning the sky was black, it was raining heavy and thundering and lightning, but that was not going to stop me from distributing my brochures in Fort Lauderdale. When I arrived at the courthouse the sky was overcast, but at least it was dry.
At the Federal Court House I was joined by Chris and Greg who are FIJA activists and have become pretty much regulars.
As usual we stood across the street next to the parking garage; because the Federal Marshals claim that the sidewalk around the Federal Court House at: 299 East Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida is government property. They state that if we are caught handing out brochures we will be arrested, so we stand across the street where people park.
After lunch we headed over to the Broward County Court House at: SE 6th Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. At the County Court House there was a lot of traffic, and the people were very receptive of the brochures.
One lady by the name of Betty, a court clerk was very enthusiastic about the brochure and wanted to know more, so I educated her on how one juror can vote with their conscience and hang the jury with Jury Veto Power!
In total today we distributed approximately 570 brochures, it was a good day all three of us were happy with the results.
